Illusion

It's amazing how some things appear to be something completely different.
This also has a good example of why I'm rebuilding instead of repairing.

Inspector sidekick

Kitty always has loved construction!
More destruction before installing port side stern post.

Under repairs

With the extreme dry that comes to Florida this time of year, it's a good time to fix the roof.

Curiosity

I Hope this will help. Thanks to my neighbor Scott and his trusty hound, Rook will have its first sign!
I'm sure I'll be getting a few more of these 😎

Still going.....

Some more steps done in the whole " I gotta make a foundation for my roof " project....

Greeaat

Going to be an interesting day!

Hmmm

Stepping out this morning, I noticed some tracks in the dust on one of my dinghies.  After thinking about it, I haven't come up with any clues to what left the tracks.
I'm thinking I missed the aliens that were interested in my Lil sailboat....

Slowly slowly...

It may not look like much,  but it is progress.  Making pieces by hand, each one slightly different from the others, waiting for epoxy to cure and watching storms flow at me threateningly, only to evaporate a half mile before getting me wet, has to be one of the more difficult things I've done.

Deck repair continued....

It's just like a lot of other things,  ya have to break it before you can fix it,  just don't get carried away with the breaking part!

Deck repair

Now starting the second stage of deck repair on starboard side forward quarter,  the hardest part is removing the repaired repair that overlaps the repaired repair, right next to the repaired repair,  all of which served their purpose at the time( long ago).

Fluke

I don't know about yall, but this here smashed whateveritis has a remarkable resemblance to a fish....

Personal record!

Since arriving in Florida this is the biggest frog I have encountered yet, approximately 3 inches long.  What's great is that I found it on Rook!
Wondered where my ants went!

Breathtaking

At least there is a breathtaking view for the end of a breathtaking day!

Hot

Fan bound,
Definition: 95 degrees in the shade, in front of a fan blowing 80%+humidified 95 degree air. Ahhh tropical.

Pesky critters

Somewhere between fury and terror Kitty made absolutely certain the Dolphin knew she was confused!
Take that ya pesky swimmin critters!

Tub cover

Slowly,  that's the rule...
The tub cover/bed coming along fairly well.

Addition

After some recent rounds of trading and a pile of green treated lumber compliments of the mangroves, Rook now has a nice little working /fishing dock!

Progress

With season over, I'm finding time to remodel Rook!
Framing in the roof to accommodate a Stern entry large enough to not bang my head while passing through!
Also the main center beam is in place roughly and will soon be locked in place.

Irony

The norm along the ICW along Estero Island has large amounts of rental pontoon boats, seemingly in a highly competitive race to get,  uh... Well?  Wherever it is they're racing to.
Occasionally there are the small go-fast boats with 2-3 350hp outboard motors at idle speed with dancing girls wiggling away on the bow to some kind of rap\reggae\techno dance music emanating from a multi-thousand dollar sound system causing more water disturbance than the vessel itself.
Now today I was witness to a first for me, Granpa and 8-10 of his ol buddies pokin along well below the normal flow in his half-a-mill 60 footer to the sound of a 40 piece marching band playing the anthem of his favorite football team loud enough to make the shutters rattle in beat to the kettle drum,at Sanibel island (about 10 miles away)!
As I stared with a grin, laughter broke free, with the thought of,
                       You GO Granpa!!
He sure showed them whippersnappers 😀

Hazardous conditions

Isn't it amazing how tourists generate more hazardous wake, in a no wake zone than a 50 mph wind?
I'm sure the dolphins, manatees and sea turtles that inhabit the area would agree.

Progress

Removing the overhang on the stern of Rook is a definite improvement. More to come......

Charity

Helping the girl next door. I'm amazed at how short a life a prosthetic leg has. There has to be a better way to make these things.....

A view from my bed

Taking a break, I found the view from the bedroom on Rook has it's positive side.

Hmmm

Eny meni myni MO amazing amount of camel toe.....

Remodeling

Remodeling is well underway aboard Rook!
Recently added a compression post, compliments of the mangroves! This is a 7" pole approximately 7' tall and green treated, which is sitting upon a stack of epoxied green treat planks which rests on the lower stringers.

How to install a hot tub on a boat.

Step 1: cut out a hole big enough to fit said tub through to get it inside....
More to come 😀
